Members of The Night Sky Syndicate were pleased to be back on track at the Methven Harness Racing Meeting on Sunday 10 April and cheer home their Bettor's Delight filly Stellar Arden to win the the Pat McGirr Memorial Mobile Pace.
Trainer Grant Payne was confident before the race that the four year old would go well and she didn't disappoint. Driver Tim Williams made good use of the number one barrier draw and she was an early leader until she let Best Trio take over with just under a lap to go. At the turn for home Stellar Arden came up the IRT Harness Racing Unhinged passing lane and finished half a length in front of Best Trio with Betterthanhope third.
There was a good turnout of syndicate members who travelled to Methven to enjoy a very good day at the races. Watching from home John and Judy Stiven were very happy with the daughter of their mare Ardenart's performance. "It is great when you put a syndicate of enthusiastic and supportive members together and things go well for them," John said. We couldn't be there but we had lots of excited people phoning and messaging. They were having a great time."
The Methven Trotting Club made the winning owners feel very welcome to enjoy the wonderful hospitality on offer. Nigel Armstrong presented the group with a photograph and trophy.
