Win number nine a reality for The Slice of Heaven Syndicate

Arden's Reality provided The Slice of Heaven Syndicate with an exciting win as part of the NZ Metropolitan First Autumn Five Star Premier Night on Friday 26th March 2021. Going one better than his performance the previous week the son of Somebeachsomewhere and Badlands Hanover mare Real Wings tracked the favourite Dashing Major throughout the race then finished strongly to run past him and win by half a length. It is Arden Reality's fourth win for the syndicate whose members also enjoyed five wins with Celestial Arden (Rocknroll Heaven/ Arden's Darlin) before he was sold to Australian connections. Celestial Arden now races in the US.

"He had previously been racing well without any luck," said syndicate manager John Stiven. Trainer Grant Payne had been happy with the gelding's run to finish second to Shut Up N Dance and was not surprised by the win. Tim Williams made the most of the good barrier draws in each of the two races and the 4 year old gelding responded well.

There were a number of syndicate members on course on Friday night to enjoy the win in the Publica-Brands, Websites, Apps Mobile Pace over 1980m.

In the Breckon Winners Bar syndicate member Merv Radford thanked the sponsors for their support, the NZ Metropolitan Trotting Club, trainer Grant Payne and driver Tim Williams.

John and Judy bred the gelding which was born on 5th January 2017 and the mare has produced three more foals since then. A full brother, Arden Believer, was sold at the 2020 Yearling Sales. He qualified at two on the 19th of December 2020.

At the 2021 sales a half sister by Art Major was passed in in the ring but was sold soon after. She is Divine Arden.

This season's foal was born on 27th November 2020 and the Stivens are very pleased that they have a Lazarus colt that will be on offer at next year's sales. Weaned this week he has impressed right from when he was at Macca Lodge only a few days old -as seen here in the photo.
